 In case anyone is interested, I recieved an email from the Richard III Foundation about a conference they will be running in September

“The Wars of the Roses: Military Thought and Practice”
September 27, 2008

Our 2008 conference will take place on September 27, 2008 at the Market Bosworth High School and Community College, located at Station Road, Market Bosworth, Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

Registration will begin at 9:15 am and will conclude at 5 pm.

Our speakers and their topics will include:

¨      David Baldwin - Reconstructing a Medieval Battle: Stoke Field 1487.
¨      Glenn Foard - Warfare in a Medieval Landscape: Finding Bosworth Battlefield
¨      Prof. Anthony Goodman - Richard 111 as a Military Commander.
¨      Dr. David Grummitt - Military Thought and Chivalric Expectation: Edward IV's French Campaign of 1475.
¨      Dr Paul Stamper of English Heritage - Battlefield Conservation, Designation and Display: Aims and Approaches from Across the World.
¨      Prof. Matthew Strickland - The Price of Defeat: The Treatment of Prisoners in the Wars of the Roses.


With Special Guest - Honorary Patron Robert Hardy

Following the lectures, we will host a round table discussion chaired by Professor Matthew Strickland. Participating in the discussion will be the Foundation’s honorary patron, actor Robert Hardy, an acknowledged expert on the longbow.

 General Public – Advance Sales   £35.00   
Tickets sold at the door (this price applies to patrons and the general public)   £40.00   
Special Ticket Price: (usual Total Value of £55) includes a one-year membership to the Foundation, academic publication, special seating at the conference, name badge, and discounts to future conferences, etc.  This special price does not apply to current patrons of the Foundation.   £43.00

I went to this last year and so have received an invite this year..I really enjoyed it especially Helen Castors talk on the Pastons.
I'll definately be there. Thumbs Up

Hi
  I emailed tham back to ask if we booked as a group could we get a discount. The was answer is yes, the amount would depend on the numbers in the group.

 May be worth sending out the info in the next group email, to get the people who don't check the forum too often and ask around at the next couple of events.
