Welcome to the Buckingham’s Retinue Guidebook, this has been put together to help you know what is acceptable at our events. This guide includes information on what we expect from our members, what we do at our events and, most importantly, a costume guide on what is appropriate to wear and when.

This guide is made up of contributions from many members of Buckingham’s Retinue, who I would like to thank for their research and efforts in producing this section. I would like to remind the reader that this is not an exhaustive attempt to cover every aspect of medieval life, but rather a guide for our members as they aim to develop their understanding of the medieval world which we attempt to recreate.
